Thinking of You

Good Morning!  Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card.  I usually have difficulty creating sympathy cards but luckily this one came together quickly.

I've wanted to use one of these tree branch die's for a while so maybe the idea for this card had been rattling around in my subconscious.  The flowers were cut from a blue-green design paper with a soft swirl pattern.  I shaped them with the McGill Paper Shapers tools and a molding mat.  The centers are liquid pearls.  The bird was colored with distress ink and the sentiment was stamped in Close to Cocoa from Stampin' Up.  The top layer was popped up with foam tape.

HM Cup of Tea

Hello!  I created this as an inspiration card for the House Mouse and Friends Relax and enjoy life challenge that began today.  It's a bit busy because I couldn't quite figure out where to go with this little mouse.  I like the color combination and I hardly ever use it (as I seem to typically be a pink and green girl).  Thanks for stopping by.

I purchased this cute Sarah Kay stamp at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Use coupon JENNY-10 to save 10% off your entire purchase if you feel like shopping!  :)

I colored her with Copics and the design paper is from DCWV.  Her apron and bows were colored with a Spica glitter pen after coloring with a Copic C1 marker.  She sparkles and I purchased the glittery ribbon on ebay.  Thanks for stopping by!

I was inspired this morning by Diane from Nellie's Nest so I grabbed my camera and took some garden pictures.  I've been meaning to take photos for a while and I really need to retake some of these.  I like when photos are actually in focus.  :)  Thanks for stopping by.  Now onto more cardmaking...

Classy Cards Seaside Shaker

Good morning! Today is my first day posting for the Classy Cards 'n Such blog.  This is my design for this week's "A Day at the Beach" Challenge.  The inspiration for this card came from the JustRite Sea Shell Bay Labels Twenty Two stamp set.  I created my version with dies.

First, I cut out three square pieces of card stock.  The largest was a 5"x5" white card base, a blue square 4.5"x 4.5", and a Kraft square size 4"x4".  When stacked, cutting in 1/2 inch increments left a uniform quarter inch frame edge around each layer.

I cut out the centers of the kraft and blue layers using the Spellbinders Labels Twenty Two die.  I adhered the smaller layer on top of the larger layer with foam tape and then glued a piece of clear plastic (salvaged from toy packaging) underneath the bottom layer.

To create the beach and waves I ripped strips of colored and white card stock and then glued the layers together.  The sky was created by sponging blue distress ink.  I colored the Impression Obsession Sea Birds with distress markers.  Sequins were added to the shaker portion of the card before the final assembly.

The Impression Obsession Grass (which is the prize being offered at CCNS this week!) was cut from green card stock, cut into two pieces and glued in between the blue layer and the clear plastic.  I thought it added extra dimension by keeping it outside of the shaker portion of the card.

Last, I sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink onto the small seahorse from the Cheery Lynn Seahorse Family die and then glued it and the Memory Box Small Ringlets to the front of the frame.

HM Sleepy Sunshine

Good Morning!   This is my first time being a guest designer for the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  This is the card I designed.  I had a tough time pulling this all together for some reason and I'm still not convinced this card is balanced enough visually but I liked the white space more than additional designer paper.

It might be difficult to see but I stamped the flower a second time, colored it with copics, cut it out and popped it up with foam tape.  It doesn't sit as high as the circle frame around this little guy but it is popped up higher than the main image.  Thanks for stopping by!

CBD Running out of Time

Welcome!  I created this for the Use Dies challenge I'm hosting at Crafting By Designs this week.  Come on over and join us for a chance to win some wonderful digi's by Oak Pond Creations!

I purchased this great new Frantic Stamper Princess Castle die at Dies R Us and wanted to play. Kraftin' Kimmie Cinderella is a large image which made figuring out how to incorporate the castle into this card difficult. I finally came up with the idea to tuck it between layers.

After coloring Cinderella with Copics, I cut out the end of her dress so I could use the "Out of the box" technique.  I used the Spellbinders Scalloped Labels One die to finish cutting around her and then layered her on top of the larger scalloped labels blue cardstock.  The Inkadinkado clock was cut out by hand and distressed with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink.  The MFT flourish was also colored with distress ink.  The sentiment is from Riley & Co..

Dies R Us Holiday Window

Hello!  I designed this for the Dies R Us Christmas in July Challenge.  Hope you can join us to play for the chance to win a voucher to the Dies R Us store.  The selection of dies is absolutely incredible, it seems like the store adds new dies daily!  They also offer free shipping in the US over $35 and internationally over $50.

Close up you can see how the poinsettia's shimmer.  I covered them in a fine white glitter and gave them rhinestone centers.

For the interior of the window, I blended distress ink and water on white cardstock.  After I was done, I wanted it to look softer so I added a piece of wax paper over to create a stained-glass effect.

I added tiny rhinestones to the ends of the swirls.  The window was colored with TH Distress Metallic Stain.  I added a piece of plastic (from toy packaging) underneath the window frame with foam tape to add dimension.
