Classy Cards Hello

Hi friends!  I've been so inspired by this Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper lately .  The soft coordinating shades and elegant prints have made it my go-to paper.

The lacey circle is from Joy Crafts.  It's difficult to see in the photo but the edge of the solid center circle also has a lovely embossed detail.  The die comes with a smaller circle that I used to cut out the floral paper also from the Botanical tea paper pad.  I popped up the small circle with Joy! Crafts Foam Pads and then glued two of the Memory Box Chloe Stems on top.   I added  a butterfly from my stash, colored it with distress ink and added a rhinestone center.  Hello was cut from white card stock using the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.

I hope you enjoy my card.  Thanks for looking and make sure to check out the upcoming weekly challenges for a chance to win a wonderful prize from the Classy Cards 'n Such shop!

Cheery Lynn You're Amazing!

Hello again!  I'm back today with a floral card for Cheery Lynn Designs.  I feel like I haven't made one in a few weeks and I thought it was time.  I wanted to challenge myself and make one without using a doily.  I began with a kraft A2 card base and added a blue Deutschland Boutique Stacker layer on top.  Then I cut a Pierced Stacker 4 and cut out the center using the Alpine Flourish Doily .  I popped that layer up using foam adhesive and then created the flowers.

The flowers and leaves are from the Tea Rose Medium.  I cut them in blue, added blue distress ink to the centers and shaped them with a stylus molding tool.  Dandelions were tucked in behind and I added rhinestone centers to the flowers.  I cut the sentiment You're Amazing and glued two more Dandelions underneath.  Last I added the little butterfly from Tiny Things With Wings die.

Classy Cards Teacher Thanks

Hi friends!  It's Jenny posting today with a card inspired by the Back to School Challenge.  Sometimes when I'm stuck on something I turn to paper to inspire me and in this case it's this cute school themed paper that has been in my stash for some time.

This might be more of a mid year themed card than a beginning of the year teacher card but now I'm ahead of the game when teacher appreciation day rolls around.

I cut an A2 size card and then cut my designer paper a quarter inch smaller on two sides which leave an eight of an inch border all around.  I then glued a rectangle from the Impression Obsession 6 in 1 Rectangle Frame that was cut with Kraft paper.

The sentiment was from a stamp in my stash.  I cut the sentiment with a rectangle from the Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.  I used a little distress ink to age the inside a bit and bring in more of the Kraft color.  The center was popped up using Joy! Foam Pads.

The red apples are from the Impression Obsession Bushel of Apples die.  Thanks for looking and make sure to join in this week's challenge for a chance to win a great prize from the Classy Cards store!

Classy Cards Oceana Dreams

Hi again!  Today I'm sharing an underwater scene.  I've been in a nautical/beachy card making mood lately and it gave me the perfect opportunity to use this beautiful Memory Box Oceana Corner die.The base card is a white A2 sized card.  I used a piece of Kraft card stock as a base and then popped up a piece of light blue paper with Joy! Foam Pads on top.

I cut the Memory Box Oceana Corner with white card stock and then colored it lightly with Distress Ink.  I also cut parts of it again in a blue card stock and glued them on top.  The Memory Box Small Ringlets were also cut with the same blue card stock.  I used a die from my stash to make the sea horse and he was also adhered to the card with Joy! Foam Pads.  The Impression Obsession Grass die's bottom was trimmed a little.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing your Classy Cards challenge entries!

Cheery Lynn Nautical Tag

Hello!  I'm back today with my take on this week's Cheery Lynn Doilies Challenge.  I love this Nautical Doily.  It's always a show stopper on cards.  I decided to go with a nautical theme and my tag just evolved.

I began by cutting an oval from the Oval Classic Silver Stackers.  I sponged distress ink on the background and left the die cut in the die so I'd get a white edge.  I then distressed the outer edge with some brown distress ink.

I cut the Sand Dollars and Starfish and colored them with distress ink as well.  It's difficult to see but the Ships Anchor was actually covered in silver embossing powder and is metallic.  The Ship's Compass (another one of my favorite dies) is so detailed.  It didn't need much to embellish it but I again colored it with distress ink.

To top everything off I used a seahorse left over from another project that is one of the three dies in the Seahorse Family.  He was originally Kraft but was colored with blue, green and brown distress inks.  I cut a hole with a hole punch and tied twine to the top to finish off the tag.

Scrapyland Halloween Tag

Hello! I'm sharing a Halloween Tag today for the new Scrapyland Pockets/Tag Challenge.  I used a few of Cheery Lynn's new dies for this as well as a Memory box stencil with a pearlized embossing paste.

I started by coloring the tag with distress ink and then using the embossing paste and stencil over top.  Some of my stars came out cleaner than others but I hid some of the mistakes with a Cheery Lynn Circle die.  I then added some new Cheery Lynn bats on top (I just love the detail on these bats!).  The Pierced Stars are also Cheery Lynn dies and the centers were cut out using a magnetic platform to hold the dies in place while the centers were cut out to get just the star edges.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in the challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Scrapyland store!

Classy Cards Birthday Wishes Tag

Hello Friends!  This is a tag I made inspired by the current Classy Cards 'n Such Color Inspiration challenge.  The color challenge is pretty broad:  Use Red, Pink, Blue, Green & Yellow.  In figuring out how to incorporate all these colors I got an idea to use my distress ink.

I started by cutting a tag from an old manila folder using a Tim Holtz die from my stash.  I placed a Memory Box stencil very similar to the Memory Box  Pattern Tula Stencil sold at Classy Cards 'n Such on top while I sponged various distress inks using a Mini Ink Blending Tool.  To get the colors to blend and add a little glam I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl over the top.

While the ink was drying I cut the Birthday Wishes words out of the Impression Obsession Greeting set and colored them with blue distress ink.  When the tag was dry I glued the words and  Water Dew Drops to the surface, added some string and was done.  This almost has a tie dye appearance which is kind f fun.  I think I could use it both for a gift for an adult or for a child.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in the challenge this week!

Classy Cards Baby Mobile

Hello friends!  I'm here today sharing a new baby card I made for Classy Cards 'n Such.  It was pretty quick to create and could be duplicated easily for shower invitations or thank you cards.

I began by using a Pearlescent Embossing Paste similar to the Dreamweaver one sold in the store. I used the Memory Box Stars Starry Night Stencil and a Palette Knife to apply the paste.  I used a bit of painters tape to adhere the stencil to the card front before applying the paste.  If you are going to try using this embossing paste make sure to keep a bin of water close to drop your tools in right after or keep a baby wipe on hand because the embossing paste dries very fast and you'll want to make sure to clean it off your stencil before it dries.

After the paste was dry I added the blue circle die cut that's from a die in my stash and then glued the Memory Box Mobile to the top.  The blue circle was adhered to the card front using Joy Foam Pads.

To finish up I added the Baby die from Cheery Lynn.  It's no longer in stock at Classy Cards but check out the other Cheery Lynn dies because they are all 50% off with coupon code CLD50.

Cheery Lynn Birthday Stars

Hello!  I'm back today with a card using these new Pierced Stars from the July  Cheery Lynn Designs Release.  I used three different sizes from the set and cut the centers out of two of them to get the outline.  I used a magnetic shim to help with the positioning of the dies so the resulting star would have an even edge.

I used an A2 size base card to start, glued a yellow card stock mat on top, then adhered the patterned paper on top with foam adhesive.  I glued three of the yellow Pierced Stars on top and popped up one with foam adhesive for extra interest.  Happy and Birthday were cut and layered over the stars.

Classy Cards Thinking of You

I'm sharing a card today inspired by the new Classy Cards 'n Such challenge.  The bunny in the inspiration photo was so sweet, I tried to recreate the scene.

First I used an embossing folder from my stash to get the brick background that I then sponged with distress ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool.  The bunnies are from an Impression Obsession die in my stash.  They were cut with white card stock and colored with distress ink and then spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  The glimmer mist blended the distress ink and added a nice sheen to the bunnies. The bunnies were adhered to the card front using Joy Foam Pads.

The Grass Border and Thinking of You words are both from the Impression Obsession.  The Greeting Set from Impression Obsession is so versatile and if you follow my Wednesday posts you've seen them before.

The hanging branches are from Poppystamps Weeping Willow Branches die.  After I cut the willow and grass I sponged them with a little peeled paint distress ink using my mini ink blending tool.  Last I adhered the bunnies with Joy! Crafts Foam Pads.

Cheery Lynn Trick or Treat

Good Morning crafty friends!  I still seem to be making mostly fall cards and I can't seem to get enough of these new Cheery Lynn Halloween dies.  They are so incredibly detailed and very unique.

I started with a 5.5" black card base.  The design paper is 1/8 inch smaller on all sides.   I stacked three circles to back the Trick or Treat die focal point.  The largestest cirlce is a Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker Frames die and the others are from the new Circle Stitch and Cut Tool dies. I had originally planned the Witch Hat to take center stage but the sentiment seemed to work better.  Trick or Treat was cut twice and I offset the black die cut to make a shadow behind the yellow one.  I paper pieced the buckle into the witches hat which is the same light purple design paper from the smallest circle.  The yellow is actually glued in behind the hat and was colored with a shiny gold paint for some extra pizazz.

I cut two spiderwebs from the Spider Net die out of purple card stock and adhered them to the right side of the card.  The little matching spider was cut with black and I added a piece of yellow behind for his eyes.  He was popped up with foam tape.

The flowers were made using my most used flower dies - the Gardenia Strip and Small Gardenia dies.  These flowers always come out perfectly with little work on my part.  I used a stylus tool to mold the edges of the flower petals before I stacked and glued them together.  I glued purple rhinestones to the centers.

The purple leaves tucked in between the gardenias are from Crafty Ann which Cheery Lynn now carries and  and are called Flourish #13.

Classy Cards Joyful Birthday

Hello and welcome to the blog today!  I'm sharing a card I created this for the latest Classy Cards 'n Such Adding Texture challenge.

The base is a white A2 card that I embossed with Anna Griffin's  Cheery Blossom embossing folder. I cut a rectangle in black using Impression Obsession's Rectangles 6-in-1 Frame and glued it on top.  The flowers were made by cutting the flowers from Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings dies using white card stock.

Before coloring the petals I scrunched them up, accordion folding the edges.  Then I spritzed the petals with Picked Raspberry Distress Spray and then again with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  I scrunched the petals even more and let them dry.

The banner is an Impression Obsession die from my stash that I popped up using Joy! Crafts Foam Pads.  Once the flowers were dry I glued pearls in the centers and adhered them to the card front with Scor-Tape.  I added some white leave around from a Crafty Ann die from my stash.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in the fun challenge this week for a chance to win a great prize!

Scrapy Land Happy Halloween Tag

Hi, I'm back with a tag I made for the new Anything Goes Challenge beginning today at Scrapyland.  I hope you'll come and play along!

The tag was made by sponging distress ink on the background after masking with a Cheery Lynn Classic Silver Large Stacker circle die.  I then sponged a little yellow distress ink into the "moon".  I added a Cheery Lynn Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath around the moon and then glued the new Memory Box Forest Crows over the top.  The branch was also colored with distress ink.  I added the Memory Box Skeleton Hand on the bottom, I just love this spooky skeleton hand!

Last, I added the Happy Halloween sentiment which is also a part of the Cheery Lynn Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath die.

I hope you like the result.  Looking at it now, I think adding some purple would have been nice, maybe I'll have to add that on my next one.  Thanks for visiting!

Dies R Us Sunshine

Good Morning!  This is my inspiration card today at Dies R Us.  I hope you can join in the Summertime Fun challenge beginning today.

I was inspired by my teammate Vicki's beautiful pinwheel card HERE and my designer paper.  I hope you like the result.  The sunflowers were colored with distress ink.  The large circles are Cheery Lynn dies. The "you are my sunshine" sentiment is an old House Mouse Stamp.  I popped up the banner by using foam adhesive on both short edges and bending up the center before adhering it.
